The full trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron has been leaked online, forcing Marvel Studios to post a high resolution trailer earlier than planned to combat leaked low quality footage.

Up until now, Marvel Studios have been expectedly reserved with footage of the eagerly anticipated Avengers sequel, Avengers: Age of Ultron, leaving fans to piece together clues from easter-eggs and after-credit sequences. With the second season of Marvels’ Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D well under way, studio masterminds are hoping to create further draw to this coming week’s episode by premiering the first Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer during the episode’s broadcast. Unfortunately things haven’t gone quite to plan, but in the best possible way.

Age of Ultron is the sequel to 2012’s world-building triumph and box office hit Avengers Assemble. The film is surrounded with hype as it represents the endgame that ‘Phase 2’ of Marvel’s cross franchise story arc is culminating towards.

The trailer has plenty of footage to whip up a storm worthy of the mighty Thor himself, with our first proper look at the film’s villain in action seemingly confirming fan-theories and speculations that the movie will take inspiration from more recent Ultron-centric comic book story lines, in which the titular villain gains power by inhabiting Tony Stark’s Iron Man armour and technology. Iron Man fans have a lot to look forward to, with numerous armour variants shown, as well as getting to see Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark suit up in his Hulk Buster suit to go toe-to-toe with the green beast himself.

We’re also offered another look at new additions to the Avengers team, Scarlett Witch and Quicksilver. The first look at Marvel Studio’s iteration of Quicksilver, played by Aaron Taylor Johnson, of Kick-Ass fame and more recently Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla, appears a little underwhelming in comparison to Fox’s take on the character in X-Men Days of Future Past, but admittedly, it is far too early to judge.

The film is due for release on 24th April 2015 in the UK. Watch the trailer below.
