X-Men: Days of Future Past trailer released

Another treat for superhero fans, fast on the heels of the Captain America: The Winter Soldier trailer released last week, Twentieth Century Fox have released a trailer for their superhero franchise – X-Men. The first trailer for the latest instalment in the X-Men movie franchise, X-Men: Days of Future Past has been released today.

The trailer contains a plethora of new and old faces to the franchise, including most intriguingly the two incarnations of Professor Xavier, James McAvoy and Sir Patrick Stewart, and of Erik ‘Magneto’ Lehnsherr, Sir Ian McKellan and Michael Fassbender. Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine is a central focus of the trailer, and there are also glimpses of the focal mutants of the first three films, Ororo ‘Storm’ Munroe, Marie ‘Rogue’, Kitty ‘Shadowcat’ Pryde and Bobby ‘Iceman’ Drake, as well as faces from X-Men: First Class including Jennifer Lawrence’s Mystique.

The trailer answers a few questions about how all of this fits together with the previous films, although there is still a lot that the film itself will have to answer. The only enemy we see in the trailer itself is Peter Dinklage’s Bolivar Trask, but a mysterious website which appeared online a few months ago hints at the presence of Sentinels, a well known comic book antagonist for the X-Men, in the film.
