The disco sounds that Oliver have become notorious for help to form a song that even the biggest EDM critic has to love.

After working solidly on remixes over the last year for acts like Madeon, ZAYN, and Jack Ü, LA-based electro-disco duo Oliver’s first original composition since 2014’s ‘Light Years Away’ fails to disappoint. Containing a real mix of musical styles and influences from the deep and powerful bass of the introduction to something that is reminiscent of ocean sounds – yes, seriously – towards the end, there is an overarching retro feel to ‘Electrify’ thanks to the duo’s trademark cheesy disco vocals being mixed with a contemporary dance backing track filled with metallic synths and a pounding bassline.

As someone who, dare I say, isn’t the biggest fan of electronic dance music, that there is something for everyone in ‘Electrify’ is delightful, and its place on the upcoming FIFA 17 soundtrack – a known champion for new music – will hopefully give the pair the exposure they truly deserve.

‘Electrify’ is out now via Interscope Records
