Over Sand's 'New Year' makes for an enjoyable listen and gets you exciting for their upcoming EP.

Up-and-coming London two-piece Over Sands have released their latest single ‘New Year’ ahead of their forthcoming self-titled EP, which is due for release on 20th November. It follows their debut single ‘Hounds’, which was released earlier this year.

Having recorded the track on the English coast, there is a sense of the ebb and flow of the sea in their music. Gentle percussion, smooth guitar, and a hint of electronics combine to make this a well-crafted and enjoyable track. Lyrics expressed through soft vocals such as “you might come around, some day” give a wistful air to the song.

This is a confident second single for the pair and doesn’t sound like it’s been released by a newly formed band. Their EP is tipped to have some synthesised field recordings and some vocals recorded in a World War Two bunker, which gives you a sense of the band’s ambition so should make for a great listen. Over Sands are certainly ones to watch going into 2016.

‘New Year’ is out now via B3SCI Records.
