‘Say Something’ is an upbeat and catchy up and coming single from English six piece Folks. With a nostalgic feel and with obvious influences from the likes of the Beatles, on first glance it appears fairly light hearted but the outwardly cheery melody doesn’t fail to mask the darker tone the lyrics take.
This is undoubtedly pleasant and easy listening yet I can’t help but feel it is slightly lacking in something. As a single it has a decidedly safe air about it. However Folks should not be overlooked. Whilst this single will not set the world on fire, it demonstrates Folks’ song writing ability and delivers the promise that there is more to this six piece than perhaps this single demonstrates.
