Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer premieres at Star Wars Celebration

The first trailer for the second installment of the revived Star Wars Trilogy, Star Wars: The Last Jedi has been released today at Star Wars 40th Anniversary Celebration event.

Series creator George Lucas released the trailer following an extended question-and-answer session with Star Wars star, actor and comedian Warwick Davis, who famously played the Ewok Leader Wicket in the original trilogy.

The trailer has Rey and Luke discussing the force, with Rey suggesting she sees ‘light’, ‘darkness’ and ‘the balance’. Following this, we get a brief shot of Commander Leia Organa (played by the late Carrie Fisher) as well as Vader’s destroyed helmet.

Poe Dameron running from an explosion, a squad of X-Wings and Finn in a medical bay is followed by Rey and Kylo Ren squaring up blue lightsaber to red lightsaber, before Luke and R2D2 stare at a burning palace- it looks like Maz Kanata’s castle. A stunning voice-over spoiler accompanies an already iconic shot of Captain Phasma and stormtroopers striding through the smoke before the logo appears on the screen.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be released in UK cinemas on 15th December 2017. Check out the newest trailer below:

lol what a random list … actually going to try and not see any footage before seeing the movie, probably not going to happen. I hope it turns out that Snoke is two centimetres tall and wields a ten metre two handed claymore lightsabre.
