Teignmouth’s musical powerhouse Muse have recorded three new tracks during a recent London recording session.

Ahead of their North American tour along with 30 Seconds to Mars, the trio of Matt Bellamy, Dominic Howard and Chris Wolstenholme have been recording new material, including one song which embraces a new ‘heavy’ direction for the band.

Antonio Ludovico, a Muse superfan posted images on Instagram of himself alongside members Bellamy and Howard outside of Hampstead’s Air Studios, along with a caption saying: ‘Matt and Dom just told me they’re recording new material. They recorded 3 new songs at moment, one is quite heavy and the others 2 not really Plus few bits for the tour with 30STM.’

Muse’s official social media accounts have been awash with activity since the turn of the year, making it clear they have been up to something, but this comprises the first concrete confirmation of new material. Their last album release was the critically acclaimed 2015 album Drones.

The North American tour kick-starts a hectic year for the English band, who will return to play at both Reading and Leeds Festival this summer. You can buy your tickets for these festivals here.
