Marvel fans are eagerly awaiting the newest addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and they got their latest glimpse at the much anticipated sequel when Chris Pratt released a brand new trailer on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
This trailer is full of never-before-seen footage including Kurt Russell’s Ego-the-Living-Planet who appears briefly at the end to finally end the much asked question since the first Guardians of the Galaxy film as he announces: “I’m your dad, Peter.”
With yet more Baby Groot and his dysfunctional family of misfits, we can already see hints of the excitement and emotion that director James Gunn promised would be included. There is also a new threat to the galaxy in the form of Elizabeth Debicki’s Ayesha, and her space armada, who vow that: “It is our duty to cleanse the universe of this weakness.”

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 sees James Gunn returning to direct after the success of the Guardians’ first big screen debut. The entire host of beloved characters will also be returning with Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Karen Gillan, Glenn Close, and Michael Rooker all set to reprise their roles in the space epic. New additions to the cast also include Pom Klementieff as Mantis, Elizabeth Debicki, and Kurt Russell.
