Netflix announce new Download and Go service

Netflix have today announced that they will be making a large section of content available offline, as part of their new Download and Go service.

After Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos hinted at the development back in June, following earlier rumours dating back as far as January, many of the streaming giant’s customers have been waiting patiently for this update. After today, users will be able to download a variety of the top rated shows on Netflix, including House of Cards and Black Mirror in order to watch them when offline, rather than needing internet connection to buffer.

Although not all content is currently available offline, a statement from the company suggested in the future the entire film and television catalogue could be available this way. They stated: ‘many of your favorite streaming series and movies are already available for download, with more on the way’ during their official press release.

Some of the most popular content already available for Download and Go includes the Netflix Original Series House of Cards, Orange is the New Black and The Crown. Check out a trailer for Netflix’s most recent hit, Stranger Things below:
