Marvel’s Captain America-spin off series, Agent Carter, has been cancelled by ABC after two seasons.

The series followed Cap’s long-time love interest Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) as she continued to exceed in the world of secret intelligence in the 1940’s. The series also featured other key players in the MCU, such as Tony Stark’s father, Howard (Dominic Cooper) and his butler, Edwin Jarvis (James D’Arcy), after whom Tony named his AI unit.

Created by The Winter Soldier‘s screenwriters, Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, the series was commissioned after the success of the Marvel One Shot of the same name. Though anticipation for the show was high, the series received low ratings throughout it’s two season run.

ABC have also pre-emptively passed on picking up the Agents of SHIELD spin-off, Marvel’s Most Wanted.
