Space rock legends, Hawkwind are set to play a gig in Southampton, later this year.

The iconic rock group will be warming up for the winter solstice by bringing their psychedelic stage show to the city’s newest live venue, The 1865, on Saturday 19th December.

The band was first founded in 1969 by Dave Brock, who will be joined on stage by fellow long-standing band members, Richard Chadwick, Mr Dibs, Tim Blake, Niall Hone and Dead Fred. Former members include Nik Turner and Motorhead’s Lemmy.

The gig will see the group play a selection of tracks from their vast back catalogue, as well as some fresh preview songs from their new studio album, The Machine Stops, which is due to be released in 2016.

Tickets for the show cost £22 and can be purchased here. Watch a fan-filmed video of one of the band’s latest shows below.
