The Mayflower Theatre is attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the most princesses in one place on Saturday 19th December at 10:30 am.

The Southampton-based theatre is calling on men, women and children to take part in the record attempt. Festival Leisure Park in Essex holds the current World Record of 351 princesses in the same location.

The record attempt coincides with the theatre’s Christmas pantomime Aladdin which will star Duncan James (of Blue fame) and comedian Joe Pasquale.

For anyone eager to take part however, there are certain rules which must be adhered to in order for the theatre to successfully gain the record; All of those taking part must wear a long traditional princess dress and a crown or tiara – which cannot be made of paper. Children under the age of two will not be allowed to take part.

If you wish to join the princess gathering, you will also have to buy a £5 ticket for each person taking part. Only those in costume and with tickets will be able to enter the theatre on the day and anyone under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult princess.

All proceeds raised at the event will be equally split between Mayflower Engage and Countess Mountbatten Hospice Charity.

Tickets can be purchased from the Mayflower website or by calling 02380 711811.
