Following the exciting news that Radio 1 DJ, Scott Mills is coming to The University of Southampton as part of his five-date student tour, SUSU have revealed new details of how you can get involved.

180 wristbands will be available for any students who wish to stick around for the show, which will see Mills immerse himself into the freshers’ experience alongside his Radio 1 cohort and former Southampton alum, Chris Stark.

The show will take place at The Bridge from 1-4pm on Friday 9th October. The duo will also be running pre-recorded features on Highfield campus throughout the day.

Speaking of the event, Union President Ben Franklin said: “The team is all really excited, this will be a fantastic event for all who are involved and we hope it will generate excitement on campus. Even if you can’t be there for the show, there will be some surprise happenings all over campus leading up to it – be prepared!”

Wristbands will be handed out on a first-come, first served basis on Friday morning – so if you’ve got a 9am lecture and want to get in on the action, keep your eyes peeled for distributors in the Redbrick area!

Should you miss out on collecting a wristband however, the show will be available to watch live on TV via the Red Button and through the BBC Radio 1 website.
