Foo Fighters frontman, Dave Grohl has broken his leg after an ill-advised jump off stage during a concert in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Grohl was singing ‘Under Pressure’ at the time (the second song in the set), when he decided to do the jump. After leaping from the stage, he remained on the ground for several minutes before declaring to the crowd, “I love you, but I think I just broke my leg.”

Despite his injury, Grohl finished the song before admitting defeat. The remainder of the concert looked set to be postponed in order for Grohl to seek medical help, but before he headed for the wings, the singer promised he would return to the stage. “I’m going to go to hospital. I’m going to fix my leg. And then I’m going to come back. You have my promise right now that the Foo Fighters – we’re going to come back and finish the show.”

While Grohl received medical attention, his bandmates played a set of covers, led by drummer Taylor Hawkins to keep the fans – who had turned out in full-force – entertained.

Grohl, proving he is a man of his word – and a true rocker to boot – returned to the stage with his leg wrapped in a cast and finished the show seated.

Foo Fighters are returning to the UK for two consecutive sold out shows at Wembley, beginning on Friday 19th June and are set to headline Glastonbury Festival on 26th June.

The band previously headlined Radio One’s Big Weekend in Norwich – you can watch a song from their set below.
