The first trailer for newest disaster movie, Everest, has been released online.

The film, which is directed by Baltasar Kormákur, sees two groups of climbers and mountaineers attempt to reach the peak of Mount Everest against impossible natural odds.

One group is led by Jake Gyllenhaal’s Scott Fischer, while Jason Clarke (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) leads a separate expedition, as Kiwi mountaineer Rob Hall.  The journey soon goes from dangerous to deadly however, when disaster strikes and a huge storm arrives, looking to devastate the groups’ already slim chances of survival.

Inspired by the true story of a tragic 1996 expedition, and with an all-star cast that also includes Keira Knightley, Josh Brolin, John Hawkes, and Robin Wright, this is a disaster movie with promise.

Everest will be released on 25th September.
