Nostalgic News: Duffy’s Rockferry reaches number one seven years ago

Rockferry, the debut album from singer-songwriter Duffy, topped the UK charts this time seven years ago where it started its five-week run.

Released on 3rd March 2008, Rockferry was the fourth best-selling album of 2008 worldwide, and was nominated for a Grammy as well as picking up three BRIT Awards.

The album spawned hit singles ‘Mercy’, ‘Warwick Avenue’ and ‘Rain on Your Parade’, with ‘Mercy’ reaching the number one spot.

Since then, Duffy released her second album, Endlessly, back in 2010 which just entered the top ten, but failed to achieve the critical and commercial success that her debut did. After the release of Endlessly, things have gone silent and Duffy hasn’t released music for nearly five years.
