Rockers Slaves, who recently appeared in THE LIST, are set to appear, as are Southampton locals Band of Skulls, who spoke out about their appearance saying: “We are extremely happy and proud to be playing Common People festival. We grew up here in Southampton and the common has played a big part in our lives.”
Also appearing throughout the weekend are:
Jaguar Skills, George the Poet, DJ Yoda, De La Soul, Plastic Mermaids, Funky Little Choir, Mr Motivator, Kitty, Daisy & Lewis, Craig Charles, West End Kids
And there will be DJ sets from:

The festival will also be championing new music in partnership with local venue the Joiners, with a whole tent dedicated to new bands.
Rob da Bank, the brains behind the new Southampton festival said: ‘It’s been a long time coming to launch a new show from the Bestival family. We thought long and hard before deciding to base our new show in Southampton… I played my first ever DJ gig in Southampton when I was 16, so this is a real home coming for me.”
Common People will take place on the 23rd and 24th of May on Southampton Common. Tickets for those who pre-registered are available through Ticketline.
