Following the release of Animal earlier this year The Pigeon Detectives went on tour, releasing their fourth album ‘We Met At Sea’ just days ago, between playing in Stoke and Norwich. Their appearance at Wedgewood rooms, Portsmouth on Saturday the 11th May will mark the end of a 15 venue tour that’s being used as a means of promoting their new album. The Pigeon detectives will be supported by fellow Leeds band,The Black Sea and London band, Must.
With 2012 being a quiet year for the boys, their 2013 come back hasn’t exactly been welcomed with open arms. However, having built up a strong reputation for playing amazing live shows, it’s no surprise that reports of the tour have been extremely positive despite the album reviews often being much more negative.
Fans have jumped at the chance to see what the band are offering this time round and Saturday’s sold out show has all the basic ingredients for a great night; a respected live band, a packed out venue and a licensed bar. Now let’s just hope that the chosen songs will bind these ingredients together to create a crowd-pleasing performance.
