Community Series 4 Airing Delayed by 4 Months

The makers of the sitcom Community announced on Tuesday that the premiering of the 4th season on NBC has been pushed back to February 7th, 4 months later than the original date.

The 4th season was supposed to begin on NBC on October 19th, but a video featuring the cast was released recently that confirmed the later airdate.  A statement from NBC said that ‘we’ve decided to continue to concentrate our promotional strength on our new NBC shows that are scheduled Monday through Wednesday’, claiming that this is the reason for holding back Community and the second season of NBC sitcom Whitney.

Community has been beset with problems since the departure of showrunner Dan Harmon following the completion of the 3rd season, along with executive producers Neil Goldman, Anthony and Joe Russo, and Garrett Donovan.  Harmon was fired by Sony Pictures Television, which also produces the show, over ‘creative differences’ and issues with his not bringing in the ratings, despite constant critical acclaim.
