Calvin Harris – Motion

Calvin_Harris_-_MotionReleasing his fourth album next week, Calvin Harris seems an unstoppable force in the dance genre and the chart race. Reaching extreme popularity as a result of his last album, 18 Months, the record producer spawned the singles ‘Let’s Go’, ‘Bounce’, ‘Sweet Nothing’, ‘I Need Your Love’, and others, with ‘Sweet Nothing’ reaching number one from the third album. So far released from Motion, his fourth musical effort, are three UK numbers ones: ‘Under Control’, ‘Summer’ and ‘Blame’. ‘Outside’, a track with Ellie Goulding, is also due to be released from this unbelievably already-successful album. The new LP also features collaborations with the likes of HAIM and Gwen Stefani. Listen to ‘Outside’ below and buy the album on Monday.

Damien Rice – My Favourite Faded Fantasy

Screen Shot 2014-11-01 at 14.30.21Eight years on from his second album release 9, Irish singer-songwriter and producer Damien Rice returns to the music scene with the long-awaited My Favourite Faded Fantasy. Rice released the first glimpse of his new record with a 2-minute teaser of the upcoming album’s title track, then releasing the full song in September which was debuted by Zane Lowe on Radio 1. With his melancholic, sensitive vocals, and heartfelt lyrics, fans will be expecting a similar sound in My Favourite Faded Fantasy but perhaps more mature and developed. Rice’s third LP will be released 3rd November.

Singles

Cheryl – ‘I Don’t Care’

cheryl-i-dont-care-coverTaken from her upcoming fourth studio album Only Human, ‘I Don’t Care’ is the second single to be lifted from the LP following the number one lead single, ‘Crazy Stupid Love’. Cheryl’s other albums have all entered the top five, with the first two topping the charts and the third reaching number two, along with each lead single from all albums reaching number one in the UK. With these impressive commercial performances, the pressure is on for this tamer pop record, as opposed to the heavily dance number ones attached to Cheryl’s name. Listen to the track below and purchase the song tomorrow.
