With five EPs in his bag and a debut album The Morning released in early July, Lewis Watson is on his biggest headline tour throughout September before heading to Europe in October, coming to Southampton’s Talking Heads on 21st September.
You may not have heard about whom he is, but Lewis Watson has already gotten a huge fan base from Twitter and YouTube, where it all started, from his hometown Oxford all the way to Australia.
Since the release of his first YouTube cover videos back in 2010, Lewis Watson has continued to attract crowds not only behind computer screens with just him and his guitar; numerous like-minded audiences gathered together for his impromptu busking and gigs over the years all over the globe. He also self-released his debut EP It’s Got Four Sad Songs On It BTW in 2012, and it topped the iTunes singer-songwriter chart on its day of release. All five of his EPs to date have hit the Top 10 at iTunes, each building upon the sales of the previous release.
“I’ve tried to write songs that anyone can relate to – not necessarily the subject but at least the sentiment,” says Lewis. You have to see him live to fully experience his beautifully emotive vocals and poetic lyrics.
