The first stills from Tim Burton’s upcoming feature, Big Eyes, have been unveiled. The stills feature both Amy Adams and Christoph Waltz who inhabit the leading roles of the film. One can be seen to the right and the other below.

The biopic focuses on Margaret Keane (Adams), who achieved large success as a painter during the 1950s, and follows the legal difficulties that ensued when her husband (Waltz) claimed credit for the pieces of art.

Big Eyes will be Burton’s follow-up to 2012’s Frankenweenie and the disappointing Dark Shadows and Alice in Wonderland. Thus, with the film taking a different tone, Burton may recapture his filmic illustriousness that is evident in Edward Scissorhands.

As well as Adams and Waltz, the film also stars Danny Huston, Terence Stamp and Jason Schwartzman.

Big Eyes is due for release Christmas Day this year in the US, but has yet received a release date for the UK.
