This week sees the official beginnings of the musical career of The Voice UK runner-up, Leah Mcfall. Her single features will.i.am and is entitled ‘Home’. Elsewhere, Pixie Lott returns with her follow-up to lead single ‘Nasty’ in support of her third studio album, where she is eager to claim a number one single like her previous albums have delivered. Other musical returns include Rae Morris with her latest EP titled Cold featuring appearances from Fryars and Jack Steadman (lead singer of Bombay Bicycle Club), and Jenny Lewis with third solo album, The Voyager.

Rae Morris – Cold EP

Having collaborated with Fryars (who worked on Lily Allen’s latest album Sheezus) on recent single ‘Cold’, Rae Morris returns with another EP of the same title. The track blends dance beats, echoing instrumentals and ethereal vocals, and is accompanied by a video which portrays the feuding lovers of the song. Rae Morris’ vocals have appeared on Bombay Bicycle Club’s So Long, See You Tomorrow which reached number one in the UK albums chart and she also features on Clean Bandit’s début albumCold EP is set for release 29th July and is available to pre-order via iTunes now.

Jenny Lewis – The Voyager

Jenny Lewis returns with her third solo studio album, The Voyager; the follow-up to 2008’s Acid Tongue. Lewis was the lead vocalist of indie rock band Rilo Kiley, who announced their split-up in 2011. She also performs as part of the duo Jenny & Johnny alongside boyfriend Jonathan Rice. ‘Just One Of The Guys’ was the first single to be lifted from The Voyager, the video for which stars an all-female backing band made up of actors Kristen Stewart, Anne Hathaway and Brie Larson. The Voyager is out 29th July.

Leah McFall – ‘Home’ feat. will.i.am

The track features McFall’s previous mentor, will.i.am, who has clearly been heavily involved in young Irish singer’s career thus far. ‘Home’ follows another original track, ‘No Ordinary Love’, which was released via McFall’s YouTube. Leah McFall has also already had two UK top 40 hits including her renditions of ‘I Will Always Love You’ and ‘Killing Me Softly’, both of which she performed on The Voice UK. The single will be available to buy tomorrow. Watch the video below to witness this upcoming talent who is likely to become pretty big in the industry.

Pixie Lott – ‘Lay Me Down’

‘Lay Me Down’ is the second single taken from Lott’s upcoming self-titled third studio album. The single follows ‘Nasty’, which reached ninth position in the UK top 40 back in March. Pixie Lott has so far amassed a total of three number one tracks, including ‘Mama Do (Uh Oh, Uh Oh)’, ‘Boys and Girls’ and ‘All About Tonight’. Available tomorrow, ‘Lay Me Down’ is a chance for Pixie Lott’s new album to behold a number one single like its predecessors.
