Big Driver to become TV film

Big Driver, a novella penned by Stephen King, is to be adapted into a TV film by Lifetime.

The novella’s adaptation, which was initially published in his collection Full Dark, No Stars back in 2010, will feature Maria Bello who has starred in the likes of A History of Violence and The Cooler. Joan Jett and Will Harris will also play parts in the film.

Bello will play the protagonist who is a writer that becomes a victim of several deathly assaults by a serial killer when her car’s tire bursts in a derelict area. She manages to escape and consequently is determined to seek revenge.

The film will be the first time that Lifetime have collaborated with Stephen King and will start filming this Summer, with plans to air this Autumn.

Stephen King has been the writer of many iconic books that have become epochal films, such as The Shawshank RedemptionThe Green MileMisery and The Shining.
