Union Films: What’s Coming Up This Week (24/03/14)

0

What a season it has been! Competitions, Audience Choices, movies to meet every variety of genre tastes. Comedy, Thrillers, Action, Drama, Animation… the list is practically endless. You name it and we hope to have provided it. And let’s not forget our movie marathons, even these have been clashing in genre. A big thank you to everyone who made the Indiana Jones Trilogy. We hope you all had as much fun as we did, watching everyone’s favourite archaeologist adventurer dusts off his hat and trusty whip for yet another globe-trotting trek. These films never get old!

As we approach the final week before we all go off and stuff our faces with chocolate eggs, we have a much calmer week for you (well in terms of Union Film’s weeks anyway) so that we can all meet those last minute deadlines, but still enjoy the odd trip down the cinema.

Before we reveal the final films before the Easter Break we just want to give you all a quick reminder about our last minute schedule change, so that you aren’t missing out on more amazing movies. Whilst our Season Posters are AWESOME at keeping you all updated, please don’t forget that American Hustle will replace Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones on Tuesday at 7pm and unfortunately Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom will take place in the Summer. Perhaps a long wait but we are sure that it’ll be worth it!

Now for what you’ve all been waiting for… this week’s line up!

Tuesday 25th March at 7pm: American Hustle

With a whopping 50 wins and 96 nominations across several of the most recognised awards, American Hustle tells the story of brilliant con man Irving Rosenfeld (Christian Bale), who along with his equally cunning and seductive British partner Sydney Prosser (Amy Adams) is forced to work for a wild FBI agent. DiMaso pushes them into a world of Jersey powerbrokers and mafia that’s as dangerous as it is enchanting.

With an all star cast, this is not one to be missed.

Wednesday 26th March at 7.30pm: About Elly

About Elly is this weeks film in partnership with Phoenix. It’s a story about three Iranian families who are traveling to North of Iran in order to introduce Elly, the teacher of one of these families daughters to one of their divorced friends who’s coming from Germany to Iran. But suddenly, everything changes when the young teacher disappears and no one knows if she’s still alive or not. What has happened to Elly?

So like we said, a fairly calm week here at Union Films, but still there are two amazing films that can not be missed! Especially when you think of them as a chance to clear your brain from the worry of deadlines.

As always, tickets for all of these films are available at the Box Office, or on the night from SUSU reception, although this may be cutting it pretty fine as tickets sell out fast! Don’t forget that for all the latest information at Union Films you can tune in to our website, or on Facebook and Twitter. See you all soon!
