This is going to be a big track this summer!

Pop-rock twins The Veronicas are back with ‘In My Blood,’ an upbeat, catchy new single. The pair, best known internationally for their silver-certified 2007 single ‘Untouched,’ present something very different to their normal guitar-laden songs, but it is safe to say this summery dance track is going to be big.

The club-ready banger, full of EDM sounds and some robotic harmonies which give it that classic summer sound, is a new style for the sisters, although it does have a similar vibe to 2012’s ‘Lolita,’ which failed to impact outside their native Australia.

‘In My Blood’ shows inspiration from ’90s dance tracks and starts with piano chords with a euphoric electronic vibe, followed promptly with a breathy verse and some emotional harmonies. Its edgy lyrics work well with the funky synths and the chorus is super catchy. The drops, while timed well, could be more impressive with a bit more bass but I expect there will be remixers rectifying this in the near future.

With a fourth studio album known to be in the works and inevitably not far behind, it will be interesting to see if they stick with this sound.

‘In My Blood’ is out now via Sony.
