Nothing spectacular, but will make a nice addition to any summer or pre-drinks playlist.

Much to the delight of well…everyone, Craig David returned to the scene last year and has been releasing new tracks and performing steadily since. ‘One More Time’ is his latest release, and is actually the first solo track that he has put out in a number of years. Other new releases that are worth checking out (and you’ve probably already heard): ‘When The Bassline Drops’ – featuring Big Narstie, and ‘Nothing Like This’ – featuring Blonde.

‘One More Time’ is a classic Craig David track – and as always it is his silky voice that charms and adds a certain je ne sais quoi to an otherwise fairly standard Oceana type track. As to be expected from Craig David there is a very heavy garage sound to the track, which gives a nod to his roots with the archetypal garage figurehead Artful Dodger. There is also a lovely hint at the classic “your mum” joke at about a minute in, where David proves the multifaceted nature to his talent and demonstrates his skill in rap. Despite there being nothing particularly spectacular about this track, it is a delight to hear Craig David back in his rightful place… seducing the nation.

It is also worth noting that Craig David will be in Southampton very soon, performing at Rob Da Bank’s gorgeous Common People festival. There are still tickets available of which can be found here.

‘One More Time’ is out now via Insanity Records.
