Enjoyable

'All My Pride' should not be original, but, it is. Despite channelling several different artists, this track is enjoyable and unique.

An amalgamation of different blonde grunge singers, Black Honey shouldn’t be original, but they are.

Izzy Phillips’ vocals along with the 90s vibe and infectious guitar riffs of ‘All My Pride’ will remind any listener of an array of artists. Channelling No Doubt and Blondie, in voice and sound, Black Honey’s latest track is nostalgic and effortlessly cool.

90s grunge pop is back and Black Honey is not the first female fronted band to rock this trend; Taylor Momsen of The Pretty Reckless and Ellie Rowsell of Wolf Alice are already on the scene, but will this halt Black Honey? Based on this outing, absolutely not.

‘All My Pride’ is notably very different from the band’s previous singles; Whilst ‘Madonna’ is slow and scuzzy, ‘All My Pride’ is raw and full of energy. With the diversity of the two singles, a future album from Black Honey could be something to be excited about.

‘All My Pride’ is out now via Fox Five Records.
