Singer-songwriter Jake Bugg first appeared on the music scene back in 2011 at the age of 17, when he was given a slot on the BBC Introducing Stage at Glastonbury Festival. Since then he has release two successful albums, his self titled debut which reached the top spot of the UK Album Charts, and 2013’s Shangri La. He has even managed to secure himself Best Solo Artist at the NME Awards 2015, so it appears things are just getting better and better for the singer. Bugg returns with his new single ‘Gimme The Love’, which is taken from his upcoming album On My One, due for release 17th June 2016.

The opening of ‘Gimme The Love’ moves away from the signature sound that Bugg established on his previous records, debuting a new funky sound. However, as soon as you hear his distinctive vocals you know exactly who you are listening to. Lyrics such as “keeping rich just to make new waves” and “tryna make it sound like the new phase” hint towards this intentional new direction that the singer-songwriter is taking.

Catchy and energetic, ‘Gimme The Love’ is undoubtedly going to grab people’s attention and after a couple of listens you will be singing along. It is definitely worth a listen and will get fans excited for his upcoming album.

‘Gimme The Love’ is out now via Virgin EMI.
