Singer-songwriter Bryde has released her beautiful debut single 'Wait'

Brixton based singer-songwriter Bryde is an artist currently emerging onto the British music scene. Her self-confessed influences include PJ Harvey, Sharon Van Etten, and Laura Marling. She has recently released her debut single ‘Wait’, which has attracted the attention of Huw Stephens, who has played the track on his Radio 1 show.

This track certainly has a raw and emotional feel that really connects to those listening. Her silky lyrics such as “nothing feels like you do” give ideas of lost love. Bryde’s vocals shine through above anything else on this track and make this a pleasing listen. The twinkling guitar on the track has a Daughter-esque air to it, which pairs perfectly with the captivating vocals.

This is surprisingly confident for a first release, and doesn’t fall into the trap of becoming just a dreamy indie track with no substance. Instead it is a pleasant listen that has some complex touches to grab the listener’s attention; which makes you excited to hear her future work. Luckily for those that enjoy this track, Bryde has revealed that she is working on new material.

‘Wait’ is available now via Seahorse Music.
