American/Welsh alternative rockers No Devotion have released their first single since announcing the news of their forthcoming debut album Permanence which is due out in September. ‘Addition’ was premiered on Daniel P. Carter’s rock show on BBC Radio 1 last Sunday.

This track is guaranteed to be an anthem chanted back to the band at their future shows. From the very off it’s filled with bags of energy, from the guitar riffs and drum fills to frontman Geoff Rickly’s vocals. You can tell that each band member’s vast experience from previous ventures has really helped No Devotion to create music that is inspired and thorough.

The intensity is high throughout, but the level is still taken up a notch following the breakdown around two minutes in. It’s at this point that you can picture Rickly encouraging the fans and them chanting back at him “We’ll add it up; It up, it up, it up, it up; We’ll add it up”.

If this latest single is anything to go by, then sign me up to pre-order their debut album.

‘Addition’ is out now via Collect Records.
