Excellent

A huge, stomping synthpop anthem.

After performing ‘Messiah’ at the Commonwealth Games Closing Ceremony in 2014 Prides were catapulted into the mainstream, receiving an abundance of support from the BBC and XFM and hundreds of new fans. The anthemic synthpop single captured the general public’s attention and had you singing along to the stomping chorus after a first listen. With intelligent synthesised instrumentation that gradually grows until it crashes into the chorus, ‘Messiah’ is an expertly crafted song. With their debut album The Way Back Up being released later this week, the band are tactically releasing ‘Messiah’ as a single, and if the success of the track first time round is anything to go by the band are in for an exciting few weeks.

‘Messiah’ is out now via Island Records.
