Signature mesmerising vocals teamed with an experimental upbeat instrumental proves to be a successful change in Rose's musical direction.

Currently in the middle of her UK tour, singer-songwriter Lucy Rose has returned with new single ‘Our Eyes’, which serves as the lead track from upcoming album Work It Out.

With its punchy instrumental and twitchingly electronic intro, Rose’s new single proves to be quite different from what fans were used to. Rose’s soft, slightly husky vocals contrast the layered, quite heavy instrumental, but thankfully are not overpowered by hew new experimental change in musical direction.

With debut album, Like I Used To, Rose played it pretty safe with singer-songwriter-esque themes and calming melodies. However, with ‘Our Eyes’, she seems to have branched out more and experimented, following the sound from previous single ‘Cover Up’, released after her debut record.

Speaking about ‘Our Eyes’, Rose describes the track as “about when someone has done something that has annoyed or upset you, but as soon as your eyes meet you can’t help but smile and forget about it all and make up”.

Far more catchy, layered and charismatic than Rose’s previous releases, ‘Our Eyes’ gives fans a great sample of upcoming record Work It It, which, hopefully, will encompass this upbeat sound.

The new single ‘Our Eyes’ will be released 26th April, with Work It Out being released 13th July.
