Movement – ‘Like Lust’

0

Australian trio Movement arrived on the music scene last year with two singles, ‘Feel Real’ and ‘Us’ which Pitchfork named as Best New Track. Their style is pretty unique; not fitting into a set genre. Blurring the lines between R&B, electro and dance, Movement have given the music scene a fresh new sound.

Released in early March, ‘Like Lust’ is the new single from the band, giving fans a taste of the upcoming self-titled EP. Predominantly sticking with the sound fans were familiar with from their previous work, Movement have given ‘Like Lust’ an ethereal, beat-driven aura; both dark and chilling.

Reminiscent of music from The xx and London Grammar, ‘Like Lust’ is all about the beat, the subtle synths, and those crooning vocals which are brought in gradually from the beginning. With the repeated lyrics, ‘Could you come on over when it feels like lust‘, like an echoing loop, the song is hypnotic and psychedelic at the same time.
