Two Door Cinema Club – ‘Next Year’

0

The electronic intro to Two Door Cinema Club’s new single ‘Next Year’ sets it apart from singles of TDCC past. It makes it instantly distinctive and I’m sure will be instantly recognisable in the future as the start of one of their best tracks yet. Following the success of Tourist History, where literally every track is brilliant, TDCC had a tough task on their hands when choosing what tracks to release from second studio album Beacon.

Following ‘Sleep Alone’ and ‘Sun’, ‘Next Year’ is my favourite yet. It has all the charm from the three northern Irish lads that we see on previous singles ‘I Can Talk’ and ‘Undercover Martyn’ yet Trimble’s vocals really steal the limelight in this track. The heartfelt lyrics make this song a pleasure to listen and relate to. The catchy chorus that will be stuck in your head for days will make this song an instant success, thus foreseeing great things for TDCC in 2013.
