Kelly Clarkson’s new single is a smooth, soulful country track that makes you want to drift away listening to it. ‘Don’t Rush’ has a lovely melodic sound that pulls you in, and lyrics that I think anyone could relate to, and her voice sounds lovely, as usual. This more soul driven direction suits her voice, and Vince Gill’s voice complements her well throughout the song, and I definitely would consider it an easy listening song.
It is certainly very different to her most recent hits ‘My Life Would Suck Without You’ and ‘Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)’ which I think is a good thing – it shows her versatility, and singing ability is beyond just creating commercially successful pop songs.
