This Week in Records

February comes along this week and brings with it Foxes’ follow up to 2014’s Glamour, alongside new music from Field Music with Commontime. Dua Lipa, an artist who has a place on The Edge’s List of 2016, heads up the singles side of things.

All I Need is the second album from English singer songwriter Foxes. The most recent release to spill from the album is ‘Amazing’, a track bubbling with the shimmering pop that is associated with the artist. Single ‘Body Talk’ will also feature on All I Need, which Foxes shared with us last year. Out via Sign Of The Times Records.

DIIV’s release of Is The Is Are follows a tumultuous time for the American five-piece headed by Zachary Cole Smith, taking band members through drug addition and rehab. The product of this time is a sprawling double album fit to lose yourself in, with 17 tracks filling the bill. Out via Captured Tracks.

Indie bunch Field Music are set to release their fifth studio album Commontime this Friday. It follows a four-year break since 2012’s Plumb, and was headed by the release of track ‘The Noisy Days Are Over’, which brings with it a wonderfully laid-back tone.  Out via Memphis Industries.

Scottish sweetheart, Nina Nesbitt is releasing latest track, ‘Chewing Gum’. Nesbitt is now back on the scene with a radical new look and new sound.  She’s currently working on her second album set to include unreleased songs such as “California Comedown”. Out Via Island Records.

It is well worth getting 20 year old Dua Lipa onto your radar with new single ‘Last Dance’. Dua Lipa is on The Edge’s list of 2016 and rightly so. Her colourful, playful sound has been compared to Marina and The Diamonds and the singer has been signed onto Lana Del Rey’s management. Out Via Warner Bros. Records.

This new searing drum and bass track by DJ Fresh featuring Dizzee Rascal is due to drop this Friday. ‘How Love Begins’ will get you on your feet and your ears will certainly appreciate Dizzee’s fast paced comeback. The track was first played on Annie Mac’s Radio 1 show as her latest hottest record. Out Via Ministry of Sound.
