This Week in Records

Coldplay are the big one this week. Returning with their latest album, A Head Full Of Dreams following the share of the title track a few weeks ago, fans are no doubt bubbling with excitement. From one big name to another, Rihanna returns with Anti, and there are other new releases buzzing around for the start of last month of the year too.

A Head Full Of Dreams is the seventh studio album from Coldplay. The album boasts a different tone than seen on 2014’s Ghost Stories, with an eclectic range of collaborations: from Beyoncé and Tove Lo to Noel Gallagher. Out via Parlaphone and Atlantic.

Where Colplay were explicit about their album, Rihanna has been teasing about ANTI. Teasing different ‘Rooms’ with snippets into the world of the album, before Yahoo went and released the full tracklist, lyrics, download and streaming options and blew the whole operation. Out via Barbarian.

Blue Neighbourhood  is the debut album from South African born, Australian actor Troye Sivan. Featuring track ‘YOUTH’, the album will be full of sugarcoated electropop. Out via EMI.

This week, CHVRCHES are releasing newest single off their latest album, ‘Empty Threat’, having just unveiled the video. The Scottish group also recently announced their first headline gigs in the UK, playing London and Glasgow. With emotive lyrics and a bright melody, this single really captures the band’s essence. Out Via Virgin.

Sigala’s ‘Sweet Lovin” has been playing on the air for a while now and this week it’ll finally be available for download. This summery dance track will warm you up on a cold winters night and get you dancing at every Christmas gathering. This is Sigala’s next big thing since ‘Easy Love’. Out Via Ministry of Sound.

Soulful English singer/songwriter James Bay will release ‘If You Ever Want to Be In Love’ from his album Chaos and the Calm on Friday and, again, the song has gained plenty of radio play. James will play for four consecutive nights in London next year in March and April. Out Via Republic.
