Frontman of The Killers, Brandon Flowers, today announced plans to release a new solo album which he hopes will be available in 2015. In an interview with NME, Flowers revealed that he will spend 2014 writing and recording  the album after returning from touring with his band.  “I’m looking forward to having a normal year. But I’m going to write…It’s my job,” says Flowers. He told NME: “I’m just going to put my heart and soul into my solo record.”

Flowers has been on tour with The Killers promoting their album Battle Born, which peaked at Number 1 in the UK album charts, for the last 15 months. The band played a headline gig at Wembley Stadium this summer.

Although he is best known as being The Killers’ front man, Flowers has enjoyed success in his own right as a solo artist. His debut solo album Flamingo, which features the singles Crossfire and Only the Young, topped the UK album chart.

Last month, The Killers announced plans to release a compilation album of their best hits. The album will feature 15 tracks, two of which will be new songs. Direct Hits will be available from 11th November.
