Jeff Goldblum will be returning to the Jurassic Park franchise, it has been confirmed.

The actor, who starred in the original 1993 film and it’s 1997 sequel, The Lost World, will be reprising his role as Dr. Ian Malcolm in Jurassic World 2.

20 years since his last appearance as the cocky mathematician, Goldblum will join Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard in J.A. Bayona’s fifth instalment, which is said to be “darker” and “scarier” than the 2015 reboot.

Goldblum is currently in high demand, having recently appeared in Independence Day: Resurgence – another throwback to his iconic filmography.

The actor’s other upcoming projects include Thor: Ragnarok and Wes Anderson’s latest, Isle of Dogs.

Jurassic World 2 is currently scheduled to arrive in UK cinemas on 8th June 2018.
