First teaser for ‘Blade Runner 2049’ released

Finally our first glimpse at the newest Blade Runner installment has arrived, and it does not disappoint. Opening with the unforgettable, neon-laden streets of a foggy Los Angeles, a quote from the original 1982 film introducing us back to the gritty, near-future of replicants and blade runners.

A sequel to Blade Runner has been in development since 1999, but did not come to fruition until mid-2011. Original director Ridley Scott has taken a backseat with 2049, giving the directing baton to Denis Villeneuve (Prisoners, Sicario and Arrival). His artistic vision for the film is set through orange-laden landscapes, Ryan Gosling looking…well, like Ryan Gosling and the heart-stopping return of Deckard (Harrison Ford).

Not a lot has been released in regards to the films narrative, other than Alcon Entertainment’s small synopsis of the film:

“Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.”

Also starring Robin Wright, Ana de Armas, Jared Leto, Barkhad Abdi, Lennie James, Mackenzie Davis and Sylvia Hoeks, Blade Runner 2049 will hit cinemas October 6, 2017. Watch the new teaser below:
