After a long anticipated return, the English rock trio, Muse are the first headliners to be revealed for the prestigious festivals.

Having not played Reading and Leeds since 2011, the band commented via their official social media: ‘We’re very excited to be playing Reading and Leeds again. More news about our plans for 2017 coming in the new year.’ Following the release of their Grammy award-winning album Drones in 2015, and their very successful Glastonbury set this year, one can almost certainly  expect big things from them over the bank holiday weekend.

The British indie-pop band Bastille have also been announced to be performing at both festivals, following their success with their second album Wild World this summer. Electronic band Major Lazer will also be joining Muse and Bastille, as the festival once again tries to attract as wide an audience of music lovers as possible to the festival.

Other confirmed acts which will feature during the weekend are: Architects, At the Drive-In, While She Sleeps, Danny Brown, Andy C, Tory Lanez, Glass Animals, and Against the Current.

The Festivals are taking place as normal over August Bank Holiday weekend (25th-27th August). You can buy tickets for Reading Festival here and Leeds Festival here.
