Nuffield launch open audition call for ‘The Grapes of Wrath’

Nuffield Southampton have today announced an open audition workshop on  Tuesday 13th December 2016, in which participants can audition to be part of a professional production.

To pay homage to the play’s themes of poverty, community and migration, the Nuffield have announced they will be recruiting g a 50 strong community ensemble. The ensemble will rehearse once a week from January and perform each night from 6th – 25th March 2017.

The Grapes of Wrath, John Steinbeck’s legendary play critiquing America’s Great Depression will be given a modern twist by Associate Director Abbey Wright, bringing it into contemporary light. The performances, which will be next Spring will also feature a live band playing throughout.

In order to provide a true representation of the Southampton Community, there are no requirements for being involved, apart from being over 16 years of age. No previous acting or drama experience is needed, as the focus will be on enthusiasm and developing skills. As part of the production, participants will get to work alongside world-class theatre professionals and play a vital role, both in developing and performing in the production.
