Foo Fighters cover Rush classic – Listen

In the year of all things Rush, Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters have contributed to the upcoming expansive box set celebrating 40 years of Rush’s legendary record, 2112.

When it was first announced that covers were to be included on the box set, it was inevitable that Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins would be a part of it. The duo are immensely huge fans of the band; going so far as inducting Rush into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame back in 2013 and dressing up as the band to perform the same song.

The box set also sees covers from Alice in Chains, Billy Talent, and many other bands, in addition to previously unreleased, rare material.

Members of Rush Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson previewed part of the track on CBC Radio 2’s The Strumbo Show, which you can listen to here (skip to 46:00).
