The new featurette for Marvel’s Doctor Strange provides some stunning visuals for what is expected to be one of the most central aspects of the film, the parallel universes and multiverse aspects of the comics that have previously gone unexplored.
The new film is set to feature the collective talent of Benedict Cumberbatch, Rachel McAdams, Mads Mikkelson, Benjamin Bratt and Scott Adkins as it introduces magic and the multiverse to the MCU. Doctor Strange follows Stephen Strange, a neurosurgeon as he settles into his new role, training with The Ancient One and battling interdimensional threats.
However, today’s featurette titled: ‘Universes Within’ gives audiences a peak at the galaxies and parallel universes that Marvel President, Kevin Feige, confirms will be in the next instalment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In the new clip he says: ‘Doctor Strange represents an entirely new aspect to the cinematic universe. Just like in the comics, Doctor Strange deals with parallel dimensions.’
Previous trailers and footage had not yet delved into this aspect of the upcoming film, choosing instead to focus more on introducing and previewing the main character, Stephen Strange, with a few brief shots of Chiwetel Ejiofor’s villain and Tilda Swinton’s portrayal of The Ancient One.
Doctor Strange will be released into cinemas on October 25th, 2016 in the UK. Watch the new ‘Universes Within’ featurette below.
