Netflix announces airdate for Gilmore Girls reboot

Netflix has announced the release date for Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life and shared a new trailer for the reboot.

Following the announcement by Netflix earlier this year about a Gilmore Girls revival, fans have all been waiting anxiously for further news. As a result, they will be happy to hear that it seems the new film-length episodes of this much missed show are finally within reach. Netflix have officially announced that the release date for Gilmore Girls: A Year in the life will be 25th November 2016.

Alongside this welcome announcement Netflix have released a short teaser trailer. While this trailer doesn’t seem particularly relevant to the upcoming episodes it is still a welcome reprieve from our Gilmore Girls-less lives. Though the video is not full of spoilers as hoped, it does provide audiences with 90 wonderful seconds with the Gilmore women, and that is not something to ever complain about.

Fans of Gilmore Girls have been hoping for a revival of the show since its cancellation in 2007. While it is not a whole new series as many fans hoped, these extended episodes are still a chance to return to Stars Hollow, and reunite with beloved characters. These episodes will also hopefully provide fans with a better ending to the show, after many were disappointed with the previous ending.

Almost all of the original cast have returned to the revival, including stars Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel. They are supported by fan favourites Melissa McCarthy, Jared Padalecki, Milo Ventimiglia, Matt Czuchry, Scott Paterson, Kelly Bishop, Sean Gunn, Keiko Agena and Yanic Truesdale.
