Comic Con drops first full Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them trailer- Watch

With just four months to go until it arrives in theatres, the first full trailer of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them trailer has finally been released.

We got a couple of teaser trailers last April, but the full 2 minute and 26 second trailer was first shown to a thrilled hall of fans at San Diego’s Comic Con. At the event, fans were already delighted as star of the film Eddie Redmayne had handed out free wands to everyone there and had them all shout “Lumos Maxima!” to bring more light into the room.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is the spin-off to the Harry Potter film series, set in 1920s New York, and features Redmayne as magical beast collector Newt Scamander.

The new trailer is perhaps most exciting in the fact it shows how important the Magic v. No Maj (non magic people, ‘Muggles’ as English wizards would call them) element will be to the film. The New York police are seen ready to battle one of Newt’s beasts while he tries to stop them, while Newt at one point reasons that his creatures “are currently in alien terrain surrounded by millions of the most vicious creatures on the planet – Humans.” It also gives us a better look at Dan Fogler as Jacob, a No-Maj New Yorker befriended by Newt, who seemingly represents the film’s entire audience when he sighs “I wanna be a wizard!”, and Colin Farrell as Percival Graves, an Auror given the task of tracking down Newt and his ‘fantastic beasts’.

It’s a truly fantastic trailer to compliment what has already been a fantastic Comic Con, with new trailers for Marvel’s The Defenders, and the first trailer for Wonder Woman showing earlier in the weekend. However, one thing’s for sure – it’s gonna be a fantastically long wait for November!
