Dinosaur Jr. tease new record with guitar solos

Alternative rock band Dinosaur Jr. have teased fans with a collection of every guitar solo included on their upcoming record, Give a Glimpse of What Yer Not.

The track – titled ‘Solo Extractions’ – runs just under seven minutes, giving fans an inkling as to what Dinosaur Jr. have been working on with the new album. Dinosaur Jr.’s guitar solos are more often that not the staple of each track, so ‘Solo Extractions’ will reveal a lot, especially regarding the direction the band are taking themselves in for the future.

The band’s last record I Bet On Sky was released in 2012, and since then the trio – J Mascis, Lou Barlow and Murph – have been focusing on individual solo projects.

With the release of a new album, comes the announcement of a tour – with several dates for the UK and Ireland this September:

  • Bristol, Motion (September 14)
  • Dublin, Vicar Street (September 15)
  • Glasgow, ABC1 (September 17)
  • London, Forum (September 18)
  • Manchester, Albert Hall (September 19)
