Pokémon Go: Where to find the best Pokémon in Southampton

Pokémon Go has finally been officially released in the UK.

The gaming app, which has already become a global sensation within the past week, uses GPS technology and virtual reality to allow users to “catch ’em all” in their local areas. Though the app has caused some controversy over safety and legal issues, it has also been commended for getting players outside as they explore for cute little monsters to collect.

According to the Daily Echo, the Poké-hot spots in Southampton are:

  • Southampton Central Train Station – Pokémon found here include Squirtle, Gengar, Porygon, Hypno, Machoke and Zubat.
  • Southampton Ferry Terminal – Pokémon found here include Gengar, Abra, Blastoise and the much coveted Pikachu.
  • Ocean Village – Pokémon found here include Alakazam, Snorlax, Omanyte, Mr Mime, Wartortle and Voltorb
  • Mayflower Park – Pokémon found here include Electabuzz and Magmar.
  • Town Quay – Pokémon found here include Machoke and Dratini
  • Houndwell Park – Pokémon found here include Gloom, Eevee, Psyduck and Oddish
  • Above Bar Street – Pokémon found here include Porygon, Parasect and Golbat
  • Carlton Road – Pokémon found here include Porygon and Mankey
  • Southampton Guildhall – Pokémon found here include Magmar and Dragonair.
  • Mayflower Theatre – Pokémon found here include Jigglypuff, Jynx and Bulbasaur
  • University of Southampton – Pokémon found here include Squirtle and Exeggcute

Pokémon Go is now available to download for free on iOS and Android.
