Game of Thrones: Season 7 delayed

In a horrible twist, it seems fans will have to wait even longer than usual for Game of Thrones to return for season 7.

Game of Thrones traditionally airs its new season in spring every year. Unfortunately the delayed filming means that this will not be the case next year, as the show is now expected to come out later in 2017.

Showrunner’s David Benioff and Dan Weiss stated that “We’re starting a bit later because at the end of this season, ‘Winter is here’ – and that means that sunny weather doesn’t really serve our purposes any more. So we kind of pushed everything down the line, so we could get some grim grey weather even in the sunnier places that we shoot”.

An excellent reason no doubt, yet it will do little to help the pain fans will feel, as their struggle to endure is extended. This follows the similarly unwelcome news that Game of Thrones will only air two more seasons, and that next season will be made up of 7 rather than 10 episodes.

Fans will have to wait for more news on the future of GoT. Watch the season 6 trailer below.
